From the Plusvital Premier Series to the 5⭐ Stage at Dublin Horse Show
The Plusvital Premier Series once again showed its importance to Irish-based riders this season, providing high-level competition and a pathway to the biggest stages in Irish show jumping.
As part of the series, two wildcard entries into the 5⭐ competition at Dublin Horse Show were awarded to Francis Derwin and Jason Foley. Both riders went on to compete in Sunday’s €1 million Rolex Grand Prix at the RDS.
They were joined by Mikey Pender, who finished 7th aboard nine-year-old Madgeslane Louis, the winner of the Plusvital Premier Series leg at Balmoral earlier this season.
Michaeli Byrne who also competed in legs of the series, made her mark at Dublin, producing a double-clear performance to finish an impressive 4th in the €1m Grand Prix.
A Pathway for Irish-Based Riders
With approximately €15,000 up for grabs at each leg, the Plusvital Premier Series is one of the most valuable competitions on the Irish circuit. Visiting some of Ireland’s leading venues and attracting many of the country’s top riders, it provides Irish-based combinations with the opportunity to compete at a consistently high level on home soil.
For riders, this competition is an important part of preparing for major events such as Dublin Horse Show, giving them the chance to compete against strong fields and gain valuable experience throughout the season.
The success of Derwin, Foley, Pender and Byrne at Dublin highlights exactly what the series aims to provide — opportunity, preparation and a pathway towards the biggest stages in the sport.
At Plusvital, we are proud to support the riders and horses competing in the Premier Series and to play a part in developing opportunities for Irish-based riders.
From home. To the biggest stage.
