The first Irish Classic of the season went down to the wire with two of Jim Bolger’s homebred stars filling the top two places in Saturday’s Irish 2,000 Guineas. Mac Swiney held off the English Guineas winner Poetic Flare to continue a superb season for Jim Bolger.

On Sunday, She’s Trouble provided Irish 2,000 Guineas-winning trainer Jim Bolger with further success landing the Tally Ho Stud Irish EBF Fillies Maiden.

Johnny Murtagh also visited the winners enclosure over the weekend. Earlswood claimed victory in the Heider Family Stables Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh. While a day earlier, Create Belief won the Betway Spring (Fillies) Handicap.
