Niamh McEvoy Dominates Plusvital Premier Series with Victory at Irish Breeders Classic

The final leg of the Plusvital Premier Series took place at the Irish Breeders Classic on August 30th, providing Niamh McEvoy with her sixth win of the series this year and being crowned the 2025 National Champion. 

A total of 44 combinations tackled the challenging 150m course designed by John Doyle, with nine clear first rounds progressing to the jump-off. McEvoy went last in the jump-off on Olympic GL FVD and delivered a flawless performance, stopping the clock at 37.88 seconds to claim first place. Olympic GL FVD is an 11-year-old gelding, owned by Keith Ennis.

2nd: Ethen Ahearne ▶  LVS Goldrush H

3rd: Niamh McEvoy ▶ Flora du Mesnil

4th: Mikey Pender ▶ HHS Los Angeles

5th: Jonathan Smyth ▶ Mulvin Lui

6th: Rhys Williams ▶ Ulex JT Z

With this win, Niamh McEvoy was also crowned 2025 National Champion, an incredible achievement at just 21 years old. Based at Greg Broderick’s Ballypatrick Stables, McEvoy has enjoyed a phenomenal season, being so consistent throughout the series.

Speaking after the victory, Niamh said:
