Launch of the 2026 Plusvital Premier Series Marks Third Year of Sponsorship

The 2026 Plusvital Premier Series was officially launched at Greg Broderick’s Ballypatrick Stables, setting the stage for another exciting season. Now in its third consecutive year under the sponsorship of Plusvital, the series continues to grow in stature, attracting top riders and horses from across the country.

The launch event celebrated the outstanding achievements of last year’s leading combination, Niamh McEvoy and Olympic GL FVD. The pair delivered a dominant performance throughout the 2025 league, winning three of the seven legs and placing in two others. McEvoy’s overall season was nothing short of remarkable, claiming victory in six out of seven Premier Series legs with three different horses.

Looking ahead, anticipation is high for the 2026 series, which kicks off at Barnadown Equestrian Centre on May 10th. The league will feature seven legs in total, culminating in the prestigious final at the Irish Breeders Classic on 30th August.

This year’s series once again offers a significant incentive for competitors, with the best five results from the first six legs determining invitations to the RDS Dublin Horse Show. Each leg will carry a prize fund of €15,000, in addition to Plusvital supplement packs, further reinforcing the series’ commitment to supporting riders and owners.

All events will be livestreamed on Irish Sport TV and Horse & Country, ensuring fans can follow the action throughout the season.

Reflecting on the opportunities the series provides, Cathal Daniels who secured a wildcard entry to the RDS in 2025 highlighted its importance:

“I was lucky enough to get the wildcard spot into the 5* at the RDS, which was a massive achievement for me. It was a dream come true to ride in Dublin at that level. The Plusvital Premier Series is incredibly valuable, we are lucky to be able to compete at top venues and arenas across the country, and it really prepares the horses for major shows like Dublin & International commitments.”

CEO of Plusvital, Eoin Thompson, also expressed his enthusiasm for the continued partnership:

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Premier Series for the third year in a row. It’s a fantastic initiative for Irish showjumping, and we’ve seen our highest number of competitors take part in 2025. It encourages Irish riders to stay and compete their top horses at premier venues around the country.”
