Grand Prix Treble Caps Perfect Weekend for Darragh Ryan

Last weekend, the fourth leg of the Plusvital Premier Series took place at Maryville Stables, Co. Cork, where 46 combinations came forward to tackle a technical 1.50m track. The course proved a true test, with the time proving particularly influential. Just five combinations produced clear rounds to qualify for the jump-off, while a further seven combinations finished with clear rounnds but picked up a single time fault.

First to return for the jump-off, Darragh Ryan proved impossible to catch aboard the talented nine-year-old mare Lady Blue du Pont Letot. The mare, by Chacoon Blue out of a Qoby de Saint Aubert mare, is owned by Darragh Ryan and Liam Kearney. The pair delivered a superb round to stop the clock in 46.80 seconds, securing victory.

The win completed a phenomenal weekend for Ryan and Lady Blue du Pont Letot, who also claimed victory in Friday's Munster Grand Prix and Saturday's National Grand Prix, making it three Grand Prix wins.

Speaking after his victory, Ryan said:

"They have been great for me this year. It's been a long time since I jumped at this height. It's a brilliant league – fair play to Plusvital and Maryville this weekend. Top jumping."

Clem McMahon and Carneyhaugh Unison finished in second place, while Jack Ryan partnered Calgrafi DWB to third.

In addition to prize money, the leading combinations received Plusvital supplement packs containing Neutragast, Effivet Gel, Chillax, Bronc Eze, together with a Plusvital voucher.

With just two legs remaining, the race for the coveted qualification places for this year's Dublin Horse Show is intensifying. The Plusvital Premier Series now heads to Balmoral on 19 July, where riders will continue their battle for those all-important two qualifying spots.
