Candidate Gene SNP Associations With Fat-Free Mass (FFM) Measurements In Horses-In-Training

Candidate Gene SNP Associations With Fat-Free Mass (FFM) Measurements In Horses-In-Training: This study examined the effect of six candidate genes with functions in growth and metabolism on fat-free mass – an indicator of muscle mass – in Thoroughbred horses-in-training. The results indicated that there is a genetic contribution to fat-free mass, and therefore muscle mass in Thoroughbreds.
