A Genome-Wide SNP-Association Study Confirms A Sequence Variant (g.66493737C>T) In The Equine Myostatin (MSTN) Gene As The Most Powerful Predictor Of Optimum Racing Distance For Thoroughbred Racehorses

A Genome-Wide SNP-Association Study Confirms A Sequence Variant (g.66493737CT) In The Equine Myostatin (MSTN) Gene As The Most Powerful Predictor Of Optimum Racing Distance For Thoroughbred Racehorses

A Genome-Wide SNP-Association Study Confirms A Sequence Variant (g.66493737CT) In The Equine Myostatin (MSTN) Gene As The Most Powerful Predictor Of Optimum Racing Distance For Thoroughbred Racehorses: This study assessed the genome-wide relevance of the sequence variant (SNP) on the myostatin gene used to predict best race distance aptitude in the Equinome Speed Gene Test. The results indicated that this SNP is the most powerful genetic marker for prediction of best race distance aptitude in Thoroughbreds.
